Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa Passes Away - Voids the Stream of Music

The name Premasiri khemadasa meant "music", the tireless stream of music.

Dr. Premasiri Khemadasa is a great Sinhala musician in Sri Lanka, who directed the nation to a new different era of Music. The music of Sinhala cinema is always bound to his name, starting from "Roddie Kella" to "Agnidahaya" including many Sinhala films such as "Bambaru ewith", "Hansawila", "Golu hadawatha" and "Nidhanaya". In my personnel favour, the most reflective films of his talents in music direction are "Hansawila" and "Bambaru ewith". Some of the teledramas composed by him are "Dandubasnamanaya" by Jayantha Chandrasiri, and "Asala Kaluwara".

Dr. Khemadasa contributed the music world not only by film composing. He introduced simphoneys (i.e Muhuda), operas (being the only Sinhala opera composer) and cantatas (the one and only buddihst cantata - Pirinivan mangalya) to the country carrying a light to the hundreds of followers. He musicized many songs like "Landune" and "Minisa" sung by Amarasiri Peiris, "Wikasitha pem" by Pandith Amaradeva.

The void made to the stream of music by his passing away......who can fill? but remainings remain.....forever !!!

CSE batch04 - memories

We had to depart after a wonderful 4 years in university. No wonder we have handful of memories to keep forever. I think the number of trips (only department trips) is about 7 within 3 years. It's very hard to compress such a storage but gave a little try ;)

Hit the Grounds - 2008

Hit the ground is an annual cricket tournament organized by the CSE department of University of Moratuwa. Cricket matches are scheduled among the students and software companies. I got the chance to play for 04 batch in two consecutive years (2006 and 2007).

This time there was not a batch 04 team because all played for their own companies. So I played for WSO2. The unbelievable thing is we got the championship (WSO2 had never been selected even for quarter finals before:)). It was a nice experience to be in a winning team.

The Final Walk - Kurunegala

Every time I mention that this is our final trip, there's another one coming up ;) but this time I named it as "The Final Walk" because this should be our final trip, at least during the university life(because we are working now:)

We went a two day trip to Nikaweratiya and Kurunegala. Climbing Athugala was a nice and tough experience. Never knew that there are such beautiful places like Magalla lake(-Nikaweratiya) in my country. Thanks Asiri, Dinesh and Malaka for their hospitality.

Trip to Kanneliya

We went a two day trip to Unawatuna and Kanneliya on 26th March. It was our final trip. It is very sad to think that we are gonna miss this fun in the future.

3 of our friends were awarded for helping others for their studies with kuppies on that night. It was a very sensitive and memorable moment. My boyfriend was one of them. I'm happy for him:)

A Cure for Leukemia

A very happy news for Leucamia patients. I heard that there is a cure. Its a kind of grass called "Ganesha". The name may not be famous but it grows everywhere. I've posted a picture too.

I'm telling it by experience coz my cousin sister got cured from Leucamia because of this treatment. Now she is not taking any medicine and she has stopped even checking the blood count regularly. She had blended this grass with water and drunk a full of medium sized glass a day. After about 40 days when she checks blood count it had unbelievably gone up.

This treatment is very cheap. So anyone can at least give a try.

It grows like this. I am not sure what is the correct one. They both look similar.
